It is always with great pleasure that our family has been involved with serving the community in helping the various civic and charitable organizations in their efforts. We are proud to be a part in assisting these groups and individuals and giving back to the community.
NAACCC Business of the Year: Voted by the North Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce as Business of the year.
The American Red Cross: Five times a year, Michael’s opens our facility to contribute with the Red Cross in their blood donation drives. Each pint of blood saves 3 lives. To date, together , we have collected over 250 pints of blood, thanks to collective efforts.
MAAD - Mother’s Against Drunk Driving: Monthly, Michael’s allows this fantastic group to use our facility to host their meeting. Normally attended by 200 individuals, it provides a community service and life long lessons against the dangers of drinking and driving. Hopefully providing a safer environment in the community.
Take Back Our Streets: For over 16 years, Founder of TBOS Michael Wagner has provided numerous services for this charity that provides assistance to needy families in Anne Arundel county. To date they have raised over 60,000 toys for children, and literally tons of food. Mr. Wagner also funded two buses to provide children transportation that otherwise could not be accomplished. TBOS offers children in this area a source of overcoming, and is a project that Mr. Wagner is extremely proud to assist in. This group effort has been successful because of the community, it’s civic leaders, local businesses and churches.
Cheer For Our Troops: Recently we were honored to have the chance to donate our facility to a local group, advocated by Ms. Serena Andrews of Coastal Cheer and Dance. There goal was to send “Care Packages” to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a result nearly 200 gift boxes were sent, and nearly 500 volunteers accomplished this effort.
Ferndale Day: For over 30 years, founder of this annual event, Michael Wagner, has donated tents, tables, chair, food, and Chaired this event which raises money for the communities Senior Center. The event annually hosts over 2,000 local citizens, providing a day of celebration for Ferndale residents. To date, this day has raised over $250,000.
Walter Reed Army Medical Center: Thanks to Michael Wagner, Marty Gunther of Gunther’s Charters and Colonel Dewey Wiseman, Michael’s has had the opportunity in the past to invite over 30 Men & Women that serve us around the world, to enjoy a night of Ballroom Boxing at Michael’s. It give’s us great pleasure to know that these folks, who have served for us, have the small chance of enjoying a special night. They come to watch the little fight, but they fight the big fight. Don't take that for granted, because if it wasn't for them, there wouldn't be today.
Partnered w/ Abundant Life Church w. “Make a Difference Day”: In conjunction with Abundant Life Church (ALC), Michael’s contributes time and supplies to better concerning situations in the community. This past season, the joint venture , spear-headed by ALC reformed the teachers lounge at Glen Burnie High School.
Home of Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame: Co-Founder Michael Wagner is dedicated to recognize sports figures, coaches, and others that have dedicated their time and abilities in sports from this county. Currently, “The Hall” boasts over 80 members. The plaques are proudly represented in the main area of the Ballroom.
Super Saturday: As just a small piece in the big picture two Saturdays a year in conjunction with Abundant Life Church - Michael’s donates food for an all free event designed around children and random acts of kindness for the community. Over 1,000 gatherers each event.
Spaghetti Dinner: This event exemplifies the dedication of parents in local Middle and High Schools to promote progression in Reading and Math skills of students. Michael’s is proud to donate food for this event.
Recognition of Excellence - Which is a recognition for Lindale Middle School students who meet the three A’s; Academics, Attendance & Attitude. Michael’s donates food and facilities for this event yearly.
Friends of Ferndale - For three years co-founders Mike Wagner and Jim Mchugh have raised money through a variety of events , including an annual golf tournament in assisting various families and organizations in the Ferndale area.
